  Watermelon

The watermelon is a very popular summer fruit, mainly due to its refreshing properties and because it quenches thirst. A very suitable summer cure if only watermelon is eaten for a few days, achieving a deep depuration without loosing vitality.

The watermelon is mainly water (98%), and very rich in minerals and vitamin C: The pink colour of its flesh is due to the presence of lycopene carotenoid, an element representing 30% of the total of carotenoids in the human body. It is a fruit with almost no common salt.

Watermelon is re-mineralising and excellent as a diuretic, its high alkalizing level favours the elimination of prejudicial acids for the organism. Not having common salt is very appropriate for those with kidney and heart disorders. And its low content in sugars makes it very suitable for diabetics, helping quench the thirst that they frequently suffer. Its provision of lycopene to the diet decreases the cancer risk, especially that of the prostate.
